Privacy Policy

Dovemark Inc. (“Dovemark”, “we”, “us”) builds and manages websites for small businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to getdovemark.com and to the websites we build and host for our customers. Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to anyone under 18.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account or subscribe, we collect your name, email address, phone number and billing address. We also collect details about your business — its name, address, phone number, opening hours and services — most of which comes from your public Google Business Profile, together with the content you write, upload or approve for your website.
Information we collect automatically. When you use getdovemark.com we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you interact with them.
Information from other sources. We receive business listing information from Google, and limited billing information from our payment processor. We also compile lists of local businesses from public directories in order to send postcards; these contain business contact details only.
Payment card details. We do not collect or store your card number. Payments are handled by our payment processor.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate and support our services;
- build, host and maintain your website;
- process payments and register domain names on your behalf;
- communicate with you about your account and our services;
- measure and improve our services and our advertising;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security issues; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
How we share your information
We share personal information with service providers who help us operate. These include hosting and infrastructure providers, payment processing, domain registration, artificial intelligence services used to generate website content, print and mail services, email delivery, and analytics and advertising measurement providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law or a valid legal request, to enforce our terms, to protect rights, property or safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising
We advertise on Facebook, Instagram and Google. To measure which ads bring people to us, our servers report to Meta when a website preview is generated and when someone subscribes. With those reports we send your IP address, browser and device type, the page address, and — if you arrived from one of our ads — the identifier attached to that click.
We also use Meta’s measurement pixel on this site, which records when a page loads so we can tell how many people who clicked an advert actually arrived, and Google’s conversion tag, which records when someone creates an account or subscribes. Both store small identifiers in your browser so that a click on an advert and what followed can be recognised as the same visit. These are advertising cookies.
We do not send Meta or Google your name, email address or phone number. We do not build advertising profiles about you ourselves, though Meta and Google may use what they receive within their own advertising systems. If you would prefer we did not include you in this measurement, email us and we will exclude you.
Cookies
We use the storage our services need to function, such as keeping you signed in and remembering a website you have already viewed. Meta’s measurement pixel and Google’s conversion tag each store identifiers in your browser as well, as described under Advertising above. We do not sell what we collect.
Websites we host for our customers
Websites we build include a contact form. When a visitor submits it, we collect their name, email address, phone number and message and make them available to the business they contacted. We also record the number of visits to each website; this does not involve cookies or any identifier.
For this information the business is responsible for how it is used, and we process it on their behalf. If you contacted a business through a website we host, please contact that business directly, or contact us and we will pass your request on.
International transfers
We are based in Canada and several of our service providers are located in the United States and elsewhere. Your information may be stored or processed outside your country and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide our services, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and meet our legal obligations. If you delete your account, your website, leads, domain records and version history are removed permanently.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your information in your account, or contact us and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and we will notify you of material changes.
