About Dovemark

How Dovemark Works

Dovemark builds and operates a website for a local service business, generated from that business's own public Google Business Profile data, and keeps it updated on an ongoing basis. There is no page builder, no drag-and-drop editor, and no dashboard the owner is expected to log into regularly.

Every factual detail on a generated site — name, hours, phone number, service area, reviews — comes directly from the business's existing Google Business Profile. Dovemark does not invent these facts. The written blurbs and descriptive copy on the site (the "About This Business" text, service descriptions, etc.) are generated to present that real information clearly — the facts are sourced, the writing is generated.

The generation process

How a site gets built

Input

Dovemark reads a business's public Google Business Profile: name, category, hours, phone, address/service area, and existing reviews.

Generation

A single AI pass writes the site's blurbs and content, and tailors the design for that business within its category — colours, layout, and which sections appear are chosen based on what's actually available (photos, reviews, services listed), not one fixed template applied identically to every site.

Preview

The generated site is shown to the business owner before anything is public. Nothing goes live without the owner seeing it first.

Edits

The owner can change text, photos, colours, fonts, contact details, and which sections appear, through a preset edit panel with prefilled fields for each editable piece of content. Changes save and apply instantly, with no publishing delay. Every version is saved, so a prior version can always be restored.

Ongoing service

What's included, ongoing

Review response

Coming soon — included in the plan

When a new review comes in on the business's Google Business Profile, Dovemark will draft a reply and email it to the business owner for approval. Once approved (or edited), it posts as the business's response — nothing goes out without sign-off.

Data sync

Coming soon — included in the plan

Business hours, services, contact details, and service area will stay consistent between the Google Business Profile and the website, so the two don't drift out of sync as one or the other is updated.

Profile-to-site linking

Coming soon — included in the plan

The website URL will be correctly populated in the business's Google Business Profile "website" field, connecting the two properties.

Quote request form

Every site includes a quote/contact request form so visitors can submit an inquiry directly from the site.

Photo galleries

Owners can upload their own photos (completed work, team photos, before/after shots) to build out a gallery or portfolio section.

Standard infrastructure

Hosting, domain, backup versions, security, and SEO setup are included in the price.

Pricing, compared

Pricing, compared

All of these are ongoing monthly costs — none of them are truly "one-time," since a website needs hosting and a domain indefinitely either way. The more accurate comparison isn't Dovemark against a website builder alone — a website builder doesn't manage a Google Business Profile, so the realistic alternative is a website builder plus a separate tool or service to handle Google reviews and profile upkeep.

Dovemark

Monthly cost
$48.99/mo ($24.99 first month)
What's included
Hosting, domain, unlimited edits, quote form, photo galleries, SEO setup, backup versions; review response and GBP↔site data sync are part of the plan and coming soon
Platforms to manage
One — website and GBP are designed to be integrated, with sync planned as part of the roadmap

DIY builder + separate GBP management tool

Monthly cost
~$16–30/mo (builder) + ~$17–99/mo for a focused review-reply tool, or $289–449+/mo for a full platform like Birdeye or Podium
What's included
Hosting, domain, self-service editor from the builder; review alerts/posting tools from the GBP service
Platforms to manage
Two — the website and the GBP tool don't talk to each other, so hours, services, and contact info have to be updated in both places by hand whenever something changes

Freelancer/agency build

Monthly cost
$300–1,500 one-time, then ~$10–25/mo
What's included
Hosting and domain only after the initial build; further edits typically billed hourly or via retainer; GBP management not included
Platforms to manage
Website build is separate from GBP entirely; owner manages the profile alone or pays extra for it

No website / GBP only

Monthly cost
$0
What's included
Nothing beyond the free Google Business Profile listing
Platforms to manage
One, but no website

Freelancer/agency figures are general 2026 market ranges, not verified quotes. DIY builder pricing reflects Wix and Squarespace's published 2026 plans. GBP tool pricing reflects both focused review-tools and full platforms like Birdeye and Podium as of 2026 — all figures worth reconfirming periodically, since vendor pricing changes. Dovemark's figures reflect current published pricing.

The real cost of the DIY-builder route isn't just the second subscription — it's that the website and the profile are two separate systems that don't sync. If hours change or a new service is added, the owner has to update it in both places, and the two can drift out of sync if one is missed. Dovemark is built to handle this as one integrated system, with the website and Google Business Profile kept in sync automatically — that integration is part of the plan and coming soon.

Trust and website value

Why this matters

DreamHost's 2026 Local Business Trust Index (a survey of over 1,200 U.S. consumers, conducted November 2025) found businesses with websites are perceived as 41% more trustworthy than those without, and that 69% of consumers say a website is essential for a local business to be credible.
